Tennessee State Fair Has Animal Fun

Gads of entertaining events can be found at the Tennessee state fair in Nashville. During the month of September each year you'll find everything from animal and vegetable exhibits to Robots strutting their stuff on stage. Also High School Bands from across the state are selected and invited to join the Bands and Fans in the Stands event. Parking at the fair is a cinch if you have an RV. The grounds feature a safe and secure park for visitors who want to camp out a little and spend more than the usual day at the fair. Why not spend the entire 10 days of the fair camping out?

There are lots of animal shows and exhibits available for the fairgoing public. Come and see both Tigers and Sharks on the same grounds. The Tigers of India exhibit features rare tigers of the full range of color variations. The tigers have been raised by hand and enjoy 'playtime' with their human counterparts. Visitors can sit under a shaded canopy to enjoy the Live Shark Encounter featuring professional divers and great white sharks. After the show audience members can have their pictures taken with the Jaw of an ancient 60 foot shark called the Carcharodon Megalondon.

For some thrills and chills visitors should head over to the Bike Stunt Show and the Aerial Thrill Show. In the bike stunt show watch some of the top BMX ramp riders and inline skaters and skateboarders perform fast paced stunts. The Aerial Thrill Show features the stunts of accomplished aerialist and artists who routinely engage in death defying feats, including a globe of death, and the stratospheric swaypoles.

Head over to the Volunteer Village and watch Sorghum Savory turned into sweet syrup the old fashioned way over heated fires. This Sorghum can be preserved for long periods of time without chemical preservatives. After visiting Volunteer Village head over to the Great Lakes Timber Show featuring chainsaw carving, ax throwing, wood chopping, one and two-man crosscut sawing, modified chainsawing, and log rolling.
